Start a playbook before there is a full checklist
Open Playbook from Hundo’s navigation. My guides is your reading queue; Verified checklist is the list of reviewed objectives; Explore by region is a shortcut into that list. You can use the guest playbook without paying or creating an account. The status line tells you whether Hundo is saving in this browser or to your account.
Before launch, saving useful reads is the part you can use immediately. Open a guide and use its save button, or choose + Save guide on a recommendation in My guides. Return to Playbook to find your next reads. Remove a saved guide when you no longer want it in the queue; this changes your reading list, not the article itself.
Choose browser saving or account saving deliberately
A guest playbook belongs to this browser’s storage. It is useful when you want to start quickly on one device. Clearing site data, using a different browser profile, or moving to another phone will not bring that guest list with you. Private browsing may remove it when the private session closes.
Account saving is the better choice if you expect to switch between your phone and computer. Sign in on each device and check for Saving to your account before changing the list. Guest and account records stay separate: signing in does not automatically import your guest queue. To transfer a guest reading queue deliberately, export its JSON before signing in. While signed in, use Restore a backup, review the account destination and merge the matching entries. Keep separate backups for different runs; this merge adds saves rather than replacing a playthrough.
Export a readable snapshot
In Playbook, choose Export my backup. Hundo opens a text box containing a JSON snapshot. You can select and copy that text or choose Download JSON to save hundo-playbook.json. The snapshot lists saved guide addresses and completed objective identifiers, with an export time and the saving mode. It does not contain account credentials.
Keep the file somewhere you can find it before changing browser settings or devices. Give a personal copy a date in its filename so you can tell snapshots apart. Choose Restore a backup and select the JSON file or paste its text. Preview shows the saving destination, new saves and unmatched entries. Merge only after checking that destination. Existing saves remain, and re-merging the same file does not duplicate entries. Keep the original file for unmatched entries; only currently published objectives can be restored. Account dashboard CSV exports are a separate readable progress record. Neither format is a console game-save backup.
- Confirm the saving status before exporting.
- Open the backup and check that your saved guide list is present.
- Download or copy the snapshot before clearing browser storage.
- Keep game saves protected through your platform’s own save features.
Use the objective filters without losing the meaning of progress
When reviewed objectives are available, Verified checklist lets you search by name or description and narrow the view by region, category, and completion relationship. Remaining-only filtering hides already completed entries. If an objective seems to have disappeared after you checked it, show completed objectives or relax the filters before assuming the save failed.
Required, optional, and unknown relationships mean different things. Required needs evidence that the objective contributes to 100%; optional means it is recorded separately; unknown means the relationship has not been established. Expand Reveal description & evidence to inspect the explanation and linked source before planning your run around a claim.
No published objectives means Hundo is awaiting reviewed evidence. It does not mean the game has no objectives or that your run is complete. A website counter reflects the current published catalog; the official in-game counter remains the authority for the game’s own completion status.
End a session with a record you can actually resume
Check an objective after completing it in your playthrough, rather than checking something because you watched a video about it. In account tracking, use private notes for short context such as the approach you tried, a public guide timestamp, or a condition you still need to test. Do not put passwords or account recovery information in those notes.
Before leaving, check the saving status and any error message. If saving is unavailable, resolve that error before treating a new change as recorded. An export is useful after an important session, but it does not replace checking that the actual save succeeded. A later correction to an objective should retain its identifier so earlier completion records remain attached.
Hundo is a manual companion. It cannot read your console save, complete a mission for you, or award an achievement. Keeping that boundary clear lets you use the playbook as a reliable personal record without confusing it with the game itself.
Common questions
Will my guest saves appear when I sign in?
Guest and account saves are separate. Signing in does not automatically merge them. Export the guest JSON, then preview and merge that backup while signed in if you want to transfer matching entries.
Can I restore my JSON backup automatically?
Yes. In My playbook, choose Restore a backup, select or paste the JSON, then preview the destination and matching entries before merging. It adds saves and preserves existing progress. Unknown entries are skipped; dashboard CSV files and console saves cannot be imported.
Does Hundo automatically read my console save?
No. Hundo is a manual companion tracker and does not read or modify game saves.
