Every category, explained

🎯

1. Main Story Missions

All required missions

In GTA V

All 69 mandatory story missions across Michael, Trevor, and Franklin

Expected in GTA VI

All required story missions across Jason and Lucia. The dual-protagonist structure mirrors GTA V's three-character system.

👤

2. Stranger & Side Mission Strands

⚠ Contains missables
All named strands

In GTA V

20 distinct Strangers and Freaks mission chains — including Franklin's Grass Roots series, Trevor's border missions, and Michael's Epsilon Program.

Expected in GTA VI

Named NPC mission chains are confirmed from trailer footage. Based on GTA V, expect 15–25 distinct strands, some of which will be missable.

📦

3. Collectibles

All items per type

In GTA V

Spaceship parts (50), letter scraps (50), nuclear waste (30 via submarine), stunt jumps (50). Each type counted as a separate objective.

Expected in GTA VI

GTA VI will introduce its own collectible types tied to the Florida/Vice City setting. Expect 4–6 distinct collectible categories.

🏄

4. Hobbies & Activities

Gold/completion in each

In GTA V

Golf (1 round, any score), tennis (win 1 match), triathlon (complete all 3), off-road races (complete all 3), sea races (complete all 3), shooting range (get bronze or better in each).

Expected in GTA VI

GTA VI trailers confirm surfing and expanded social activities. Expect a similar list of sport/hobby completions, likely expanded by 2–4 new types.

5. Random Events

Minimum threshold

In GTA V

14 random events required out of 57 total. Events trigger organically while driving — a hitchhiker, a mugging, a car crash. You do not need to complete every event.

Expected in GTA VI

Random events are confirmed from trailer footage showing organic world interactions. A minimum threshold (not all events) is expected, matching GTA V's structure.

What does NOT count toward 100%

  • GTA Online missions and activities (100% is a single-player achievement in all prior GTA titles)
  • Optional criminal activities that are not named objectives (e.g., robbing convenience stores in GTA V had no 100% requirement)
  • Purchasing every property — property ownership has never been required for 100% in a GTA title
  • Achieving maximum wanted level or completing police chases
  • Reaching maximum stats for each protagonist (strength, shooting, etc.)
  • Story replay or getting alternate mission outcomes

Based on GTA V and prior titles. GTA VI requirements will be confirmed at launch.

Stranger missions contain the most missable items

In GTA V, over a dozen stranger mission strands locked permanently after specific story chapters. Miss one and you need a full replay. Hundo alerts you before your window closes. See the missable items guide →

GTA VI 100% requirements — FAQ

What counts toward 100% completion in GTA VI?

GTA VI 100% completion is expected to include: all required story missions, named stranger/side mission strands, collectibles, hobbies and activities (races, sports, mini-games), and random world events. This follows the structure established in GTA V, which used the same five categories across 69 distinct objectives.

Do online missions count toward GTA VI 100% completion?

In GTA V, GTA Online missions did not count toward the single-player 100% completion. Based on all prior GTA titles, GTA VI single-player 100% is expected to be achievable entirely in offline/story mode.

Do side missions count toward 100% in GTA VI?

Yes — named side mission strands (equivalent to GTA V's Strangers and Freaks) are one of the largest 100% categories. These are multi-step mission chains tied to specific NPCs. In GTA V, 20 stranger strands were required for 100%. GTA VI is expected to have a similar or larger count.

Do collectibles count toward 100% in GTA VI?

Yes. Collectibles are consistently required for 100% across every modern GTA title. GTA V required spaceship parts (50), letter scraps (50), nuclear waste (30), and stunt jumps (50). GTA VI will have its own collectible types — Hundo will track every location.

What are missable items in GTA VI?

Missable items are missions or encounters that permanently disappear once you advance past a certain story checkpoint. In GTA V, over a dozen stranger missions locked out after specific chapters. Missing one required a full-game replay for 100%. Hundo flags every missable item with a warning before your window closes.

Does property ownership count toward 100% in GTA VI?

In GTA V, property ownership was not required for 100% completion. However, the heist missions associated with purchasing certain properties were counted. GTA VI's property system is unconfirmed — Hundo will update requirements with verified data on launch day.

Can I still get 100% if I miss a random event?

In GTA V, not every random event was required for 100% — only a set number needed to be triggered, not all 57. GTA VI is expected to follow the same pattern, where triggering a minimum threshold of random events satisfies the requirement.
